Workshop Description Who should Attend How to Register
Organization as Systems The workshop is designed to provide participants a set of concepts and tools for effectively defining the business architecture level of an enterprise architecture, starting with an external view of the market and environmental requirements and linking those requirements layer by layer down through the organization’s Business Process Architecture (BPA) to the IT and HR enablers. Participants are given an opportunity to apply the tools and templates to case examples and their own organizations.

Process for Managers This workshop is designed to provide managers with an understanding of the role and power of processes in delivering organization performance as well as a set of tools and templates which their organization can use to begin to design, manage and improve processes. Managers will learn how and why processes fail and the critical success factors for any process improvement project.

Process Mapping and Documentation This course is designed to present practitioners with the basic tools and techniques for documenting processes with ample opportunity to apply practice through case studies. This course will present:
  • an organizing architecture for creating, presenting and maintaining a library of business process models
  • tools and instructions for documenting business processes - obtaining process information, formatting and depicting processes in the form of process maps and other supporting documents
  • tools and instructions for creating some high-level systems views of an organization
  • a model for a process documentation management program
  • the basis of a Process Documentation Standard

Process Design and Management This workshop presents PDL’s robust methodology for analyzing, designing and implementing work processes that align with business needs and the management processes required to ensure continuous alignment. The workshop is taught by professionals who have conducted hundreds of successful process improvement projects. In addition to the very practical methodology steps and tools, this course also presents the major concepts and theories that underlie PDL process improvement methodology. With an understanding of these basic concepts, the participants will be able to effectively tailor the steps and tools to for any given process situation.

Hands-on practice is provided through use of an elaborate case that walks participants through the critical phases of the project.

Designing Human Performance This workshop presents the Human Performance System model which depicts the finite set of variables that determine how effectively or ineffectively anyone will perform on the job. Value Chain for Managers This workshop is designed to provide management with an understanding of the role and power of the Value Chain and processes in delivering organization performance. This course presents what is really required to manage both the horizontal (value producing processes) and the vertical (resources) organization. Management Teams are provided the opportunity to model and analyze their own vertical/horizontal organization and create a rational plan for becoming a process-managed organization.
